UNIQUE PROJECT ”SOUTH BOHEMIAN RESEARCH CENTER OF AQUACULTURE AND BIODIVERSITY OF HYDROCENOSES" (CENAKVA) WAS SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED
 
Implementation of the project “South Bohemian Research Center of Aquaculture and Biodiversity of Hydrocenoses" or CENAKVA, which was funded under the Operational Programme Research and Development for Innovation of the Ministry of Education, 2nd priority axis focused on building regional R & D centers, was completed on 31th December 2013. Now the period of project´s sustainability follows till the end of 2018.
Through eligible expenditures of roughly $ 253 million CZK was built a top regional R & D center in the South Bohemian region with an international reach. Reconstruction of three buildings of the Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters in Vodnany was carried out. The buildings were equipped with unique instrumentation technique to implement cutting-edge research and, last but not least, the project has enabled significant human resource development.
Built center will continue to specialize and deepen its knowledge in the field of aquaculture and biodiversity of hydrocenoses with a view to strengthen basic, applied and technological research in the field of implemented research programs.
